What Are Casement Windows?

A casement window is one that has one or more hinges on the side and opens outwards like a door. Most casement windows are operated using a handle. Casement windows usually come in a pair that are connected in the centre and each opens on a different side, but there are many different styles and options available.

Can Casement Windows Open Fully?

Because of the hinges on the side, casement windows open fully, allowing you to let in more fresh air and offering easy cleaning. You can also get top hung casement windows, where the hinges are at the top of the window frame.

Are Casement Windows Energy Efficient?

Modern casement windows from RILU Windows & Doors are energy efficient and offer optimal thermal efficiency, meaning less heat loss. Our solutions come double glazed as standard, and this retains heat while still giving you all the benefits of casement windows.

Are Casement Windows High Maintenance?

Casement windows are relatively low maintenance, but because they have hinges, you may need to lubricate these with oil every few months. Still, casement windows require less maintenance than other window styles, and they are easy to clean, making them an ideal solution for many homes throughout Dorset.
